Christine Sinclair Centre Facility Coordinator
Title: Facility Coordinator (part-time, approximately 10 hours per week)
Type of Position: Temporary seasonal part-time.
Effective Start Date: September 18th, 2022
Hours of Work: Sunday 8-11pm, Monday 9-11pm, Wednesday 9-11pm, Thursday 9-11pm
Location: Christine Sinclair Center
Primary Responsibilities: To oversee the operational aspects of Urban Rec sports leagues and tournaments at the Christine Sinclair Center. To interact with teams/participants in these leagues, to facilitate a fun and sportsmanlike atmosphere, and to support sponsor-driven initiatives. To recruit and train League Coordinators who help run the leagues, and to recruit new participants and teams for tournaments and future seasons.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interacting with participants and volunteer staff on a nightly basis to ensure leagues are running smoothly
- Helping to set-up the venue for games/events
- Monitoring games/observing teams and intervening when necessary to facilitate a sportsmanlike and fun atmosphere
- identifying and recruiting participants who may be candidates to become event coordinators; training new event coordinators and helping existing ones to improve
- Conflict resolution
- Supporting sponsor-driven initiatives
Requirements: A keen interest in recreational sports; excellent verbal and written communication skills; a positive attitude and outgoing personality; ability to store and transport equipment and effective time-management/multi-tasking skills.

- Interest and some knowledge of a variety of recreational sports (either as a participant, official, or spectator)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to use these when interacting with participants and staff
- The ability to learn the rules and policies for Urban Rec sports leagues and communicate these in a constructive manner to participants in our leagues
- A positive attitude and ability to be outgoing when interacting with participants and staff
- The ability to work independently and manage their time effectively by prioritizing their tasks on a nightly basis
