Can we use subs?
Of course! The only requirement is that subs have 1) an Urban Rec member profile, and 2) they have indicated that they have read the online waiver for the current calendar year. It is recommended that team captains add any subs that might be used to the team roster (better safe than sorry). For insurance reasons, ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE AN URBAN REC PROFILE AND INDICATE THAT HE/SHE HAS READ THE ONLINE WAIVER FOR THE CURRENT CALENDAR YEAR.
Can men block women?
No- men can only block men. Women can block anyone.
What is the format of the tournament?
Teams will play seeding matches to start (usually 4 or 5 with each match being about 20-25 minutes in length). Seeding matches are played to the time limit with no cap on points. The results of the seeding matches are used to rank teams for the playoffs (or reseed teams to a different pool if necessary). Playoff matches will be best 2-of-3 sets, with the first two sets played to 21 points (hard cap at 23 points) and the third set if necessary played to 15 points (hard cap at 17 points). Playoffs are single knock-out, but teams will have consolation matches scheduled.
