Pub Olympic Event Rules
Official Pub Olympic Rules:
Down Clown
- Teams will select one player to play one round. The team with the most points will win that round.
- After the first round, the other two player on each team will play one round. The team with the most points will win that round.
- If the score is tied, teams may select whichever player they want to play a 3rd and tiebreaking round.
Basketball Shootout
- Teams will select one player to play one round. The team with the most points will win that round.
- After the first round, the other two player on each team will play one round. The team with the most points will win that round.
- If the score is tied, teams may select whichever player they want to play a 3rd and tiebreaking round.
Cornhole
- Teams will rock/paper/scissors to determine which team will throw their bags first.
- Teams will start with one player on their team at each cornhole board and alternate throwing 4 bags each.
- Teams will earn 1 point for having a bag on the board once all the bags are thrown, and 3 points for a bag going inside the hole.
- The team who earns the most points during the 10min match will earn the win.
Mario Kart
- Teams will select one player to race one round.
- After the first race, the other two player on each team will race one round.
- If the score is tied, teams may select whichever player they want to race a 3rd and tiebreaking race.
Foosball
- Teams will play in pairs on their own side of the table.
- Teams will rock/paper/scissor to determine who will ‘serve’ the ball to start the game. After a goal is scored, the team who was scored on will ‘serve’ the ball.
- No Spinning – you may not complete a 360 degree rotation without touching the ball
- No Jarring – You may not slam your rod against the wall of the table in attempt to distract or jar the ball loose from the other team’s possession.
- Dead Ball – If the ball stops in the middle of two opposing team rods, the ball must be picked up and re-served. The serve goes back to the team who was last scored on.
- The team who scores the most points during the 10min match will earn the win.
Pool
- Teams will rock/paper/scissors to determine which team will break.
- There will be 4 stripes, 4 solids and an 8-ball on the table to start each game. The 8-ball will be in the center.
- Teams will play in pairs and alternate shots.
- Once a team sinks a ball, they are able to select whether they will be stripes or solids.
- Teams must sink all of their assigned balls and the 8-ball in order to win a game.
- All scratches will be considered ball in hand and can be placed anywhere on the table (no restrictions on what direction the ball has to be shot).
- If a team scratches on the 8-ball they will lose the game.
- The team who wins the previous game will break to start the next game.
- The team who has the most wins during the 10min match will earn a win. If the whistle blows in the middle of a game, the team who has the most balls down will win that game (if the teams have the same number of balls left, the game will not count).
Skeeball
- Teams will select one player to play one round. The team with the most points will win that round.
- After the first round, the other two player on each team will play one round. The team with the most points will win that round.
- If the score is tied, teams may select whichever player they want to play a 3rd and tiebreaking round.
Beer Pong
- Teams will rock/paper/scissors to determine who will throw first.
- There will be 4 cups set up on each end of the table and alternate throws for each round (1 throw each).
- If a team makes two consecutive shots, they get to throw again.
- Once a ball goes into a cup, it is removed from play. Once a team has removed all the cups, they will be awarded a point.
- No rebuttle rounds.
Offense:
- You must throw the ball so your elbow does not cross the edge of the table.
- You may bounce the ball, and if you are successful two cups are removed from the opposing team (the defending team selects the second cup to be removed).
Defense:
- You may swat, block, or blow a ball once it has either touched the table, or another cup.
- If the opposing team bounces the ball, you may swat/block the ball.
- If a defender commits a foul, there is a 1 cup removal penalty.
- The team who wins the most games will earn the win. If the whistle blows in the middle of the game, the team who has the most cups left will win that game (if there are the same number of cups left that game will not count).
